I am an open-format DJ. That means I do not limit myself to one category: I read the room and play what brings people onto the dance floor that night. The 80s, 90s, 2000s, current charts, hip-hop, R&B, house and Latin — the transition has to work, not the label.

Most of my weddings are classic German celebrations with an international soundtrack. That is exactly where I feel at home.

I am also often booked specifically for a speciality of mine: multicultural weddings.

The same thing often happens: one family sits on one side, the other opposite, and the dance floor stays divided. Each group politely celebrates in its own circle. I make sure that does not happen. I build the night so both sides hear themselves in the music and eventually dance together rather than taking turns. The moment both families share the dance floor for the first time is the most beautiful part of the night for me.

I am familiar with Iranian, Afghan, Turkish, Kurdish, Balkan, Spanish, Latin American, Indian, Vietnamese, Korean, Thai, Russian, Polish and Italian music, among others.

And if a culture is new to me, I do the work. I speak with the couple, research and listen closely: Which songs are essential? Which moments have a fixed meaning — the entrance, a family dance, the one song that gets everyone on their feet? You do not want to get those details wrong, so I would rather ask one question too many than one too few.

Being honest upfront saves both of us frustration later: if you are planning an exclusively heavy-metal wedding or a full night of German Schlager and Ballermann music, someone else will serve you better. I will tell you that in our first conversation instead of accepting the booking and merely managing the mood on the night.

A great party only happens when I feel the music myself. People notice anything else on the dance floor.

On the wedding day, I do more than play music. I keep the schedule together.

That means coordinating with the photographer, videographer, venue and kitchen so speeches, dinner, cake cutting and the first dance happen at the right time rather than accidentally overlapping. When something shifts — and something always does — I adjust the plan in the background without you having to notice.

You should experience your day, not organise it.

On big days, I do not work alone. Through KIDO Events, I coordinate a trusted network of people I have worked with for years: photography and videography, wedding content creators, photo booths, projectors and screens, popcorn machines, service staff, celebrants, live artists such as saxophone and violin players, additional DJs, and technicians for sound, lighting and setup — with more available on request.
